United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit  The federal courts are divided into "circuits."  West Virginia is in the Fourth Circuit.
United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia   This is the federal district court that covers the northern part of the state with courthouses in Clarksburg, Elkins, Martinsburg, and Wheeling.
United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia  This is the website for the federal district court that covers the southern part of the state with courthouses in Beckley, Bluefield, Charleston, Huntington, and Parkersburg.

United States Supreme Court  The official website for the United States Supreme Court includes information about the Supreme Court and access to opinions in recent years.
West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals  This website includes lots of information about the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals including its decisions since September 1991.


Websites Dealing with Discrimination

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission The website for the EEOC, the federal agency that handles discrimination claims, has lots of information about laws prohibiting discrimination.  However, victims of discrmination in West Virginia have a choice between federal and state law.  In many cases, it is better to pursue a claim under state law than under federal law.  Consult with an attorney before filing with the EEOC.
West Virginia Human Rights Commission This website includes information about how to file a discrimination claim with the West Virginia Human Rights Commission.  However, victims of discrimination in West Virginia have a number of choices including filing with the Commission, filing with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and filing in a West Virginia state court.  Consult with an atttorney in order to determine which choice is best for your case.

West Virginia Lawyer Disciplinary Board This is the website for the organization that interprets lawyer ethics rules in West Virginia and handles complaints against West Virginia attorneys.
West Virginia State Bar  This is the website for the West Virginia State Bar.  All West Virginia lawyers must belong to the West Virginia State Bar.  This website includes a membership directory of lawyers in West Virginia and other information about the West Virginia State Bar.
