Benjamin J. Hogan

Benjamin J. Hogan, originally from Morgantown, graduated with his B.A. and M.Ed. with honors from West Virginia University (2009) and his J.D. with an emphasis in labor and employment law from the West Virginia University College of Law  (2016).  While in law school, Mr. Hogan served as Editor-in-Chief of the West Virginia Law Review.  He was also a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Clinic, President of the West Virginia Fund for Law in the Public Interest, Treasurer for the Public Interest Advocates, and a graduate assistant for WVU Student Legal Services.  

Additionally, he received numerous scholarships, awards, and honors, including the 2014 Scholarship, Character & Activism award; numerous CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in a course; and being selected to the WVU Mountain Honorary.  Further, his Law Review Note, Awakening the Spirit of the NLRA: The Future of Concerted Activity Through Social Media, 118 W. Va. L. Rev. 841 (2015), was selected for publication in the West Virginia Law Review.  Mr. Hogan continues to serve as a Board Member of the Friends of the Cheat, a non-profit watershed group dedicated to restoring, preserving and promoting the natural qualities of the Cheat River.


In August 2017, Hogan will spend a year as law clerk to the Honorable Robert B. King for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Following this prestigious clerkship, Mr. Hogan will return to Allan N. Karlin & Associates to continue the private practice of law.
